This deep-burgundy colored asparagus is a unique variety easily distinguished from its green counterparts. Purple Passion is less stringy than other cultivars and has a 20% higher sugar content so it is often eaten raw. Be sure to note the spears turn green when cooked! Plants provide greatest yield when grown in well-drained soil and full sun.
