ASTER o. October Skies

This eastern U.S. native perennial is similar to 'Raydon's Favorite' but is shorter and bushier. 'October Skies' has 1", showy, blue-lavender flowers with yellow centers that bloom in fall on strong growing plants. It is an excellent choice for hot, dry, poor soils. The gray-green foliage is slightly aromatic and compliments the flowers nicely. Makes a good cut flower, attracts butterflies, and is deer resistant. Cut back after flowering to prevent the spread of seedlings.
