BORAGE

The bold dark green foliage of borage has a taste of fresh cucumbers and can be used fresh, steamed, or sautéed like spinach. Blue, star-shaped flowers appear in midsummer. The sprawling habit of the branches creates a nice rounded shape. Borage prefers consistently moist, but not wet, soil. Best treated as an annual.
