CLEMATIS recta Purpurea

This shrub like clematis is usually left alone to crawl along the ground or through a shrub as it is a non-climbing variety. Its single, 1-2", fragrant white flowers bloom atop purplish foliage in late spring and early summer. Clematis grow best when the shoots receive full sun and the roots remain shaded and cool. Plants can be cut back to the ground in spring. Grows 4-5'.
