Bright gold ribbon-like foliage forms more upright clumps than other Hakone grass cultivars. A good grower that exhibits more gold coloration when grown in part sun and is chartreuse when grown in heavier shade. A wonderful accent grass that is grown for its beautiful foliage. Insignificant, airy, reddish-brown flower spikes appear from summer to early fall. Plants grow best in moist, rich garden soil.
