LIATRIS spicata

Spikes of purple flowers appear in summer atop fine textured foliage. A great native species for borders, cutting gardens, and prairie plantings. As with many native prairie plants, Liatris grow best in full sun and average, well-drained garden soil. Lovely when planted with native daisy-type flowers in the natural garden.
