ASCLEPIAS i. Cinderella

An easy to grow perennial that is wonderful for attracting butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees to the garden! The leaves are an important food source for Monarch butterfly caterpillars. Rose-pink flower clusters bloom from the middle of summer into early fall. The flowers have a lovely vanilla scent. Once finished blooming, seed pods are formed which eventually rupture to display seeds that have long, silky, white hairs. These stalks of seed pods are an interesting element in fresh or dried arrangements. Deadheading will stimulate another bloom cycle a month after the first one. Plants grow best in moist, wet soils but will tolerate drier conditions. Native to North America.
