ECHINOPS ritro

Bright blue, ball-shaped flower heads bloom from summer through fall atop spiny gray-blue foliage. Cool nights increases the intensity the blue flower color. The flowers are excellent for cutting and can be dried. Just be careful as the foliage is prickly! Plants tolerate poor soil, drought, and heat. If grown in fertile soil plants may require staking. Great for attracting butterflies!
