A striking variegated form of Karl Foerster, the leaves of Avalanche have lovely white centers that contrast nicely with the deep green margins. The foliage remains crisp and showy all season long and the variegation is the reverse of Overdam. Noted for its early bloom, the narrow plumes of purplish-green flowers appear in June and age to a nice golden-tan color. Foliage turns tan in fall with the onset of cooler weather. Plant in moist, well-drained soil.
