Grass-MISCANTHUS s. Variegatus

An old selection of Maiden Grass but still one of the best! Wide blades of green and white striped foliage have an overall white appearance, especially from a distance. Plants have a more cascading habit compared to other varieties of maiden grass. Maroon seed heads bloom above the foliage in fall and persist well into winter. Plants are best suited to part-shade to prevent leaf scorch. In fall, the foliage turns a nice shade of tan and adds additional interest and structure to the garden throughout winter. Cut plants back in early spring.
