PULSATILLA vulgaris

Lavender-purple flowers often emerge as fuzzy buds in early spring when snow still remains on the ground! The flowers emerge first, followed shortly by the foliage. The flowers mature into silky seed heads that persist into summer long after the blooms are gone. Excellent along paths or in the rock garden. Plants thrive in extremely well-drained soils.
