One of the first and most common of the purple-leaved coral bells, Palace Purple is a seed grown strain that produces plants with purple leaves than can range in color intensity from bronzy-green to purple-red. Insignificant white flowers bloom in summer on wiry stems. Best coloration is attained when plants are exposed to some sun. Plant in moist, well-drained soil. The 1991 Perennial Plant Association Plant of the Year.
